We are the church that is located on Rosstown Lane in Marshall, VA. If you are in a hurry to get somewhere, and unfamiliar with the area, you might miss the turn that will assure your arrival at our doors. But, if you are attuned to the spirit of Christ, you will find us. We believe that the spirit of our church family shines like a beacon of light for those that seek solace in the knowledge that through God, all things are possible.

Our church is situated in a peaceful country setting. It is a place where everyone greets one another and where old fashioned hospitality and warmth abounds.

Salem Baptist Church was founded by two sisters that were slaves. The purpose of their mission and guiding principles to form a church are still present and perhaps more important than ever in today's world.
​
So, what does Salem Baptist Church do that makes it special? We do not claim to be different in what we do. But, what does make us unique is the spirit and manner that we facilitate the work we have been tasked to do as spiritual leaders in our community.

Living by Faith, Guided by Prayer
Prayer is an on-going conversation with God that helps us find peace and strength in our lives. It is the basis of our faith and belief that all things are possible.

Our church was founded on the principle that no matter how large or small our number, coming together and caring for one another helps us to achieve what might seem impossible.
Guiding Our Youth
"It takes a village to raise a child" is an African proverb and reflects the belief that a child "is raised" around the values and morals of the entire village. Our church community takes an active role in helping parents teach and guide their children in the things that will help them become productive adults.

We encourage the young members of our congregation to spend time with us... to be involved in all that we do as a church family, participate in our events and initiatives and attend Sunday school.

Making A Joyful Noise

Joining In Fellowship
When we come together as a church community and join in fellowship, we become closer to one another and stronger in our faith. Our joy in being in the presence of one another in the house of God is a blessing.
